CHUB® explosive detectors are used to automatically detect explosives and/or their traces on people fingers at checkpoints and walk-through portals. The detectors can be used both as self-contained instruments and as components of mechanical barriers (turnstiles, gates, information desks etc.) Moreover, they can be integrated into the controlled access area monitoring and control systems at checkpoints. The detectors can be used for people examination at the checkpoints of high-security objects and in crowded places (railway stations, airports etc.)
The advantages of the detector are:
- Around-the-clock automatic operation
- High sensitivity
- Fast response
- Wide range of operating conditions
- Integration into monitoring and access control systems
- Small size

After pressing the button of the CHUB explosive detector, the finger print is left on the button surface. The finger print was evaporated by thermal desorption. Evaporated substances are analyzed using an explosive vapor detector. If the vapors are detected, the WARNING signal is generated. The NOT DETECTED signal is produced, if no vapors are detected.
